Starlight helps children from across the UK. These children are between four and eighteen years old and have life-threatening illnesses.

Eden could have wished for anything – yet all she yearned for was to lead a horse by the reins.
Eden’s dad said, “Eden’s wish was something an able bodied child would not even think special, but it is what Eden said was special to her.”
Starlight whisked Eden to London to visit the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment where she was treated like The Queen.
Eden’s dad said, “It brought tears our eyes.”

Luci wished for a fashion shoot so she could create a modelling portfolio. Fourteen year old Luci has multiple Langerhans' cell histiocytosis, which is similar to cancer and is treated with chemotherapy.
At the photographic studios, Luci was met by her team: the fashion advisor with all the latest outfits, the hair stylist, the makeup artist, the model - on hand to share modelling secrets, and photographer. The end result is an amazing portfolio for Luci, who commented ‘that it really is my dream come true’. Her mum added, ‘For Luci one of the things she found the hardest was loosing her hair for the second time. It is really uplifting to see how the fashion shoot has boosted her confidence.’
At the end of the shoot – Luci kindly posed for this Donate-a-Disc Appeal photo!

Meeting the real Father Christmas is beyond the dreams of many, but not for Michael who wrote to Starlight and wished for this above all else.
In Lapland, Michael and his family were treated to a reindeer sleigh ride through the silent, snow-filled forest and it was there they met Father Christmas.
Michael’s dad said, “Michael is having his bone marrow transplant in February. It is a worrying time, but wonderful that he will now have these magical memories to look back on when he’s in hospital. Thank you Starlight.”

Jack suffers from a life-threatening condition, which has caused him to stop breathing twice. The first time this happened a fire crew saved his life and this is why Jack longs to be a fireman.
Properly kitted up in a miniature uniform, Jack had an action-packed day riding in fire engines, putting out ‘fires’ and blasting water 100 feet in the air from one of London’s fireboats on the Thames! Jack’s mum said, “It was as if Starlight had got into Jack’s dreams.”

Collin could hardly believe his eyes when a specially made police uniform was delivered to his London hotel.
From there he had an action-packed day: he was sworn into the force, took part in a car chase, worked with sniffer dogs, arrested a ‘baddie’, and even gave evidence in court. The judge asked him how long he had been a junior police constable to which he proudly replied '5 hours'!
After all this, he was given the chance to go on duty outside Number 10 Downing Street. For Collin it fulfilled a lifetime’s ambition.
